Astrology / Zodiac / Leo     General Characteristics of the Personality           As the heavenly rulers got together to bestow their gifts of the 12 signs, they must have been in the best mood possible when dealing with the Leo sign, as they were most generous to it. Had they left it with just the Sun as its ruling planet, that would have been enough to praise them endlessly. However, they were more than merciful that day and made Leo a constant sign with brilliant prospects. Then they decided to make it a Fire sign, friendly, energetic and warm. And finally, the gods agreed to let Leo rule the Fifth House of the horoscope, which deals with love and theatre. Still, there was one god that was not really happy with the others feeling that they somehow spoil Leo. It might have been the August heat that made him so irritated and he cursed Leo saying that those born under this sign would have one flaw, namely, enormous pride and vanity. The same god saw to it that as a constant sign, Leo would tend towards stubbornness. The moral of the story is, Leo may use all the gifts kindly bestowed on them by gods only if they manage to conquer the vanity, the vain "self" and take on a little bit of obedience and humbleness, which is the hardest trial for the Leo-born.     However, the Leo-born are well equipped intellectually to win this battle with themselves. They have the intellect and personal magnetism to attract people, but mustn't seek to rule over everyone. Leo is often called a royal sign due to the highly developed mind and graceful manners. Their astrological symbol is the Lion, the king of the jungles. Like all rulers, Leos should learn to wear their crown with modesty. They oughtn't to forget about their biggest flaw, namely vanity.     The Sun makes all Leos very ambitious but they shouldn't waste their energy on different abuses.     Leos like to wear the purple robe of someone really important in the society and organize receptions, and entertain guests. However, Leos must be careful about this love for theatrical effects, they may simply become something of a show off. They should accept the fact, that to reach a height, one has to start from a lower position even if he hates dirty work and think it below his dignity to do it.     Leos are natural-born leaders. Really, the top position is all they crave. But they should try to rule in terms of democracy, otherwise they may become some obnoxious little Napoleons. Napoleon and Mussolini are both born under the sign of Leo.     A Leo-born woman is very often attractive, but with a little tendency to dazzle men, which sometimes may scare the one she's trying to attract. Leo-born men tend to speak a lot about themselves and the influence they have, which may turn own to be just words.     Leo-born men can be very persistent. Sometimes the less developed types of Leo use their physical strength in a rage and fight anyone who contradicts their fixed, never changing opinion. The less developed female types try to look stylish and refined and in this way look vulgar, use cheap perfume and dress gaudily.     The Leo people are warm, friendly and sympathetic but do not always feel deeply. It seems like they have a special device in the brain that controls and switches feelings and it works whenever the pride of a Leo is hurt. No other sign would leave his or her lover for good with such a perfect indifference and determination as Leos do.     When Leos learn to suppress their willing for power, lessen their bragging and never let their vanity take over, they can be wonderful people. Here Leo deserves the title of "the royal sign". They may be extremely generous and noble. If they only cared to be more democratic with others, they'd see that everyone is happy to have them in the focus of attention. Leos must keep a little bit of their scenic art for a real show, which is their private life.
